A truly pandemic collaboration, Fall, like all tunes on my new EP Broken Standards, was recorded without any of the musicians in the same room at the same time.

Wayne Shorter’s haunting theme has been reworked and arranged to give plenty of room to rapper Simon Jnr. A fresh new artist from Birmingham, Simon delivers a message that takes the listener on a unique journey to and through the intersection of Jazz and Hip-Hop. Also hailing from Birmingham, Thomas Ford adds warm guitar textures and improv alongside my trumpet as we trade lines. On top of that, he’s holding the melody down on the flute.

Big thanks also to Kaz Rodriguez on drums, Mike Flynn on bass and Tim Proznick on Percussion for taking my sample and delivering the perfect textures. This tune is full of energy and excitement, I can’t wait for people to hear it!
